We celebrated the holiday by having friends over for a cookout and then watching fireworks at Lake Alatoona. It was a fun night, especially considering Carlos, our neighborhood funny guy, was with us. Lots of food, laughter and celebrating our great country. Our friend Natalka became a citizen last year (she's originally from Canada). She said she was surprised by the formality of the ceremony and had no idea it would be such a big deal. I replied that of course it was a big deal, she became an American!
